System One has confirmed it has terminated its contract with the promoter of the Russian Grand Prix, which means the game has no plans to carry a race within the nation sooner or later.
The information comes within the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and follows F1’s resolution final week to not race in Russia this September.
In an announcement Thursday, the game confirmed that discussions following last week’s announcement led F1 to determine to terminate its contract with the race’s promoter.
“System One can affirm it has terminated its contract with the Russian Grand Prix promoter, which means Russia is not going to have a race sooner or later,” the assertion mentioned.
F1’s authentic deal to race in Russia was struck in 2014 between President Vladimir Putin and the game’s then-CEO, Bernie Ecclestone. The contract was resulting from run by way of 2025.
