Bulk of Russian forces simply 18 miles from Kyiv, in accordance with UK intelligence

Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor has warned 10 native information shops that it’ll limit entry to their publications until they cease spreading what it calls false data, together with references to the navy operation in Ukraine as an “assault, invasion or declaration of warfare.”

In letters despatched letters to those shops, the watchdog mentioned it complained about allegedly “false data” they printed on the shelling of Ukrainian cities and the dying of civilians brought on by the Russian armed forces. 

The shops notified are: Echo of Moscow, InoSMI, Mediazona, New Instances, TV Rain, Svobodnaya Pressa, Krym.Realii, Novaya Gazeta, Zhurnalist and Lenizdat.

Novaya Gazeta editor Dmitry Muratov gained the Nobel Peace prize in 2021. A few of these shops have been designated by Russian authorities as overseas brokers. 

“Until the above inaccurate data is eliminated, entry to those sources will likely be restricted,” the watchdog mentioned in a press release on Saturday, saying an investigation into the media shops. 

“Roskomnadzor strongly recommends that the editorial workplaces of the media, previous to the publication (broadcast) of supplies in accordance with Article 49 of the Mass Media Regulation, set up their authenticity,” the watchdog mentioned. “We emphasize that correct and verified data is accessible from official Russian data sources.”
